The entire ground and second floors of this Victorian house required renovations to meet the everyday needs of a young family. The structure was opened up on the ground floor to create better connections from the rear garden to the newly planned kitchen and dining space. A new double sided hearth created a tactile connection between the living space and the front dining room while maintaining visual privacy. A new side entry and mudroom were designed with mini cubbies, and a bench to help maintain flow and storage options for the children. On the second floor new bathrooms and a redesign of the master bedroom have made for better privacy and optimization of the house’s footprint.
