Attic Lightroom.

The owners wished to convert an unfinished attic to a separate guest suite and home office. Though high at the centre, the shape and pitch of the roof meant available headroom fell off abruptly. The design works to de-‐emphasize any sense of compression from the low eaves by organizing circulation along a central spine and establishing a modern, light, expansive feel through colours and materials. Walls which flank carefully placed skylights seem almost to extend to the open sky, and glow with daylight, counteracting the low eaves above.
